AUBURN, IL - Gerald "Jerry" Wayne Jones, 71, of Auburn, formerly of Ashland, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2016, at Memorial Medical Center.

Jerry was born March 30, 1944, in Springfield, the son of Newell and Libby Walton Jones; they preceded him in death.

He was retired from Sheet Metal Workers Union Local #84. His passion was over the road truck driving.

He is survived by one son, Jeff (Cindy) Jones of Divernon; one daughter, Melanie Moore of Riverton; brother, John (Carolyn) Jones of Houston, Texas; six grandchildren: Zack (Alicia), Aaron Jones, Nikki and Amber Jones, and Alyse and Trey Moore; great-grandson, Grayson Jones; several nieces and nephews; and his dogs, Daisy and Puggy.

Private family services were held.
