Gerald E. Moore, 93, of Springfield, passed away on Thursday, October 29, 2026 at Centennial Pointe Assisted Living in Springfield. Gerald was born in Springfield on May 29, 1933, the son of Earl and Dorothy (McLaughlin) Moore. Gerald proudly served his country during the Korean War in the United States Navy. After returning from the Navy, he became a Union Electrician for IBEW Local 193. He was a member of Knights of Columbus Chapter 179, Eagles 437 and St. Katherine Drexel Parish. Gerald enjoyed spending time with his family and wintering in Brownsville, TX with his wife Norma.

Gerald is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Norma; and stepdaughter Kathy Fliflet.

He is survived by his daughters; Jennifer (Kurtis) Cooper and Sue Hays; stepchildren Teresa Rappe and Steven (Brenda) Rappe as well as several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held and Gerald will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery in Springfield, IL. with Military Honors conducted by the Sangamon County Inter-Veterans Burial Detail.

Memorial donations may be made to the Ronald McDonald House or to St. Katherine Drexel Parish.
