DAWSON, IL - Gerald Ray McConnell, 64, of Dawson, died Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2015 at his residence.
He was born Feb. 19, 1951, in Taylorville, Ill., the son of Lewis and Peggy Jackson McConnell. He married Judy Black; she preceded him in death.
He enjoyed fishing, camping and NASCAR.
He was also preceded in death by his father; stepmother, Laura McConnell; and two brothers, Jerry and Jackie McConnell.
He is survived by three sons: Josh Shelton, William (Brandy) Lee and Kenny Black Sr.; six daughters: Shannon (Joe) Robinson, Charidy Lee, Darlene McConnell, Rose (Jerry) Fox, Kim (Tony) Washington and Debbie (Rick) Gibson; five brothers: Lewis (Patty) McConnell Jr., Norman, Vernon (Wanda), Richard, and Ralph McConnell; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be from noon until the time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 13, 2015, at Fullenwider-Park Funeral Home in Mechanicsburg.
Burial will follow at Mechanicsburg Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the choice of the donor.
