Gerald L. "Handy" Hancock, 74, of Taylorville, passed away at 1:40 a.m. on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 with his daughters by his side at Prairie Rose Health Care Center in Pana.

Handy was born on February 23, 1942 in Taylorville the son of Albert James and Velma Miller Hancock.

Handy was a graduate of Taylorville High School and an over-the-road truck driver for many years.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Roberta.

He is survived by two daughters, Tammy (Randy) Wagahoff and Angela (Tom) Dees both of Taylorville; six grandchildren, Bradley (Autumn) Wagahoff of Blue Mound, Kody Thomas of Springfield, TJ (Diamond) Zucco of San Diego, CA, Alex (Hannah) Dees of NC, Chaz Dees of San Diego, CA and Karsen Wagahoff of Taylorville; two great-grandchildren, Qwyn Wagahoff and Thomas Dees; one brother, James (Rita) Hancock; three sisters, Dorothy (Keith) Brookens, Mary Fern Ferguson and Sue (Dennis) Snyder; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins.

Cremation will be accorded and private family services will be at later date.
