George Garrett Shaw, 84, of Riverton, IL passed away on Friday May 15 2026.

George was born on August 6, 1941, the son of Garrett and Mary (Prunty) Shaw in Carrollton, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

George is survived by his spouse, Lynn Williams of Riverton, IL; daughter, Sharon Williams (husband, Ron Ray) of Riverton, IL; daughter Melissa Loecken (husband, Eugene) of Frederick, Maryland, grandchildren, Alex Hill, Emily Loecken, and Jake Ray; siblings, Ronnie Shaw (wife, Faye) of Ashland, IL, Charles Shaw (wife, Kay) of Litchfield, IL, Barbara Tinsley (husband, Steve) of Grandview, MO, and Jerry Shaw (wife, Diana) of Litchfield, IL; stepchildren, Kate, Whittley, and Billie; as well as several Nieces and Nephews.

After high school, George served in the United States Navy and was a retired Teamster and Trucker. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and being outdoors. George also enjoyed woodworking. George was a lifetime staunch St. Louis Cardinal Fan.

Cremation services are being accorded.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday June 2nd, 2026 at Camp Butler National Cemetery at 2:00pm. George will receive military honors prior to burial. All guests are asked to go directly to the cemetery and to arrive after 1:30pm. 

Services are being handled by Wilson Park Funeral Home of Rochester, IL.
