George Earl Meredith, 80, of Coffeen, passed away on Monday, April 3, 2017 at St. John's Hospital.

George was born on October 10, 1936 in Harrisburg, AR the son of M.S. and Martha Covington Meredith.  He married Alta Benjamin; they divorced.  He later married Betty Jones; she preceded him in death.

George was an electrician and a member of IBEW Local 1701.   He was a member of the Moose Lodge, Order of the Flee, and was of the Baptist faith.

He was also preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Donald and Randy Meredith; and two brothers, Carl Franklin Meredith and Melvin Meredith Jr.

He is survived by one son, Ronald Lee Meredith of FL; two other children, Randie LaRussa of Springfield and Ray LaRussa of Coffeen; three sisters, Barbara J. (Bill) Hester of Lesterville, MO, Cathy (Bill) Thompson of Belleview, MO and Melody (Jim) Minear of Richmond, TX; one brother, Curtis (Robin) Meredith of Lesterville, MO; grandchildren, Rebecca LaRussa and Rachel (Kyle) Chotier; several nieces, nephews and cousins; special friend, Jenet; and his special dog, Oreo.

Cremation was accorded and at his request no services will be held.
