George F. Berry, 97, of Illiopolis, died on Sunday, May 3, 2020 at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, IL. George was born on February 22, 1923, in Bellefontaine, Ohio. He married Gloria Hunter in 1948 and she preceded him in death in 1985. George served in the US Navy during WWII in the Pacific Theater, loved farming and led a spiritual of abundance and faith. He was a former Boy Scout Scout Master and  also enjoyed trout fishing and skiing.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Gloria; and 15 siblings. He is survived by one son, Chris Berry of Tuscon, AZ,; two sisters, Olive and Shirley, and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, May 8, at Riverside Cemetery with Reverend Melissa Ebken Officiating. Memorial donations may be made to the Illiopolis American Legion.
