Obituary

Gary Blain Lynn, 61, of Oakford IL, passed away peacefully on Sunday January 26, 2020 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, IL.

Gary was born on April 15, 1958 the son of Harold and Norma (Cohenour) Lynn in Pekin IL.

Gary served in the United States Army from 1978 to 1982. He became a Registered Nurse in 1994 after receiving his Associates Degree in Nursing from Lincoln Land Community College.

He was preceded in death by his father Harold "Mike" Lynn

Gary is survived by his mother Norma Lynn, sister Tammy McBride (Jason Johnson), brother Dennis (Debra) Lynn, daughter Kristina (Matt) Yeates, sons Koadey and Koarey Lynn, as well as several grandchildren, cousins, aunts, and uncles.

Gary loved many things over his lifetime including the Chicago Cubs, Star Trek, Star Wars, and Game of Thrones. You could always find him with his side kick Sunny the dog. They enjoyed taking care of their chickens together, roaming Oakford making new friends and visiting old friends. They spent their spare time watching any and all sci-fy movies and TV shows or playing video games. Gary loved spending time with friends and family more than anything, especially his kids and grandkids.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday January 30, 2020 at Camp Butler National Cemetery. Gary will be led to rest with Military Honors. The honors will take place at the Camp Butler pavilion promptly at 1:00pm sharp.

There will be a Celebration of life on February 8th, 2020 at the Oakford Hall from 1-4PM
