SPRINGFIELD, IL - Freida Maloney, 93, of Springfield, passed away on Saturday, March 5, 2016, at Lewis Memorial Christian Village.
Freida was born May 17, 1922, in Springfield, the daughter of Wilhelm and Anna Nistahl Stach. She married Robert Maloney; he preceded her in death in 1972.
She worked as the lunch room manager for School District #186. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and was involved in the early morning bible class and Lady's AID. She enjoyed baking and sewing.
She loved being with her family and taking care of them. She was also the first person to have surviving triplets at Memorial Medical Center.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; two sons, John and Terry Maloney; twin brother, Fred Stach, and brothers, Emil and William Stach; and three sisters: Charlotte Selinger, Ann French and Emily Ulavege.
She is survived by one son, Thomas (Kat) Maloney of Springfield; one daughter, Trudy (Kim) Peterson of Titonka, Iowa; five grandchildren: Kimberly (Edward) Pease, Stephanie Peterson, Jessica Scott, Stephanie Scott and Natalie Maloney; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 8, 2016, at Ellinger-Kunz & Park Funeral Home. There will be an additional visitation from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral services at noon on Wednesday, March 9, 2016, at Immanuel Lutheran Church with the Rev. Darrell L. Debowey officiating.
Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
