Frank H. Poetcher, 85, of Springfield, passed away on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at his residence.

Frank was born on October 2, 1931 in Springfield the son of Frank Louis and Hilda Tarr Poetcher.  He married Josephine Catalano on July 18, 1953 in Springfield; she preceded him in death on January 18, 2010.

Frank was a truck driver for Teamsters Local 916 working for Sankey Brothers, Sangamo Construction and retiring from Merrill Contracting.  He was of the Lutheran Faith.  Frank was involved in the Springfield Speedway Races, he was very mechanically inclined and enjoyed working in the yard.

He was also preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by one daughter, Paula (Tom) Funsch; one granddaughter, Jennifer (fiancé, Tim) Funsch of Springfield; two sisters, Cheryl Prehoda and Doris Anderson both of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 5, 2017 at Roselawn Memorial Park.
