Frances L (Hopper) Jones, 93, of Springfield, IL passed away peacefully in the company of her family at Lewis Memorial Christian Village on Sunday August 21, 2022.

Frances was born in Green Valley, IL on July 3, 1929 and is the daughter of Jesse L. and Gladys (Bosaw) Hopper. She married Kenneth Earl Jones on July 25, 1946 in Alton, IL. They were married for 58 years until he preceded her in death on May 8, 2005. Together they raised three boys; Vincent was born first, seven years later came Bob and then Tony nine years after that.  Frances would say that those boys kept her busy. She was not only a mother to her boys but the whole neighborhood that the Jones family lived in. She also enjoyed the outdoors, hiking, flowers, bird watching, and doing crossword puzzles

Most of all she enjoyed being with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Frances was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her sister, Rose Law.

She is survived by her sons, Vincent (wife, Maling) Jones, Bob (wife, Nancy) Jones, and Tony (wife, Carol) Jones; two grandchildren, Andy (wife, Sarah) Jones, and Sara (husband, Jesse) Alltop; four great grandchildren, Nolan, Elyse, Juliet, and Jack; and a special niece, Arlene and niece, Gari.

Visitation will be held on Monday August 29, 2022 at Ellinger-Kunz and Park Funeral Home, 530 North 5th St. Springfield, IL 62702 from 12:00pm till the time of the funeral service at 12:45pm. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
