Obituary

Floyd A. Phillips Jr., 67, of Spokane, WA, formerly of Springfield and Lincoln, passed away on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at the Spokane VA Medical Center.

Floyd was born on November 18, 1948 in Springfield the son of Floyd A. Phillips Sr. and Ruby Rusher.  He married Cathy Vonmock; they later divorced.  He married Joann Roos; she preceded him in death.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during Vietnam.  He worked for St-Gobain Containers, a bottling factory, in Lincoln and for many restaurants in the Springfield and Lincoln areas.

He was also preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Zona Skeenf.

He is survived by two sons, Scott (Kimi) Phillips of Spokane, WA and Floyd Phillips III of Largo, FL; two daughter, Tina (Dan) Rusk of Beason, IL and Janet Taylor of Spokane, WA; three step-children, Shannon (Dan) Shreve of IL, Cindy (Allen) Boyer and Angela Thomas both of Lincoln; two brothers, Dale and Jerry Phillips; two sisters, Peggy Trease and Nancy Cleeton; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 noon on September 6, 2016 at Ellinger-Kunz & Park Funeral Home with Reverend Brandon Mayer officiating.  Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery where the Inter-Veterans Burial Detail will conduct honors.
