Eugene Melvin Gabriel, 66, of Rochester, passed away on Sunday, August 20, 2017 at Memorial Medical Center.

Gene was born on October 15, 1950 in Springfield, the son of Bernard and Artie Hudspeth Gabriel.

Gene served in the Air Force and was a school bus driver for Rochester for several years and drove a semi for Ramsey Trucking.  After retiring he helped a friend farm, loved Harley riding, and was a member of South Fork Church of Christ in Rochester.  He loved his family and God above all else.

He is survived by his wife, Sheila; children, Hank and Tammy Bly, and Reg (Gillian) Gabriel; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brothers, Larry (Jill), and Richard (Sandy); sisters, Pat (Jim) Logue, Dot (Floyd) Boyd, and Betty (Roy) Lindsey; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon on Thursday, August 24, 2017 at South Fork Church in Rochester.  Memorial Service will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. with a luncheon afterwards at South Fork Church.
