Emma Lou Lewis, 88, of Pleasant Plains, passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at St. John's Hospital.

Emma was born on March 4, 1928 in Glen Dean, KY the daughter of James and Vera Agnes Critchelow Hockenberry.  She married Arlie Lewis on January 25, 1944 in Harned, KY; he preceded her in death on January 21, 2007.

She retired as a cook from Pleasant Plains High School after over 40 years of service.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; and daughter, Betty Sue Lewis.

She is survived by children, Linda (Lee) Webster of Grand Rapids, MI, Thomas Layton Lewis of Pleasant Plains, Cletus (Joyce) Lewis of Hannibal, MO and Deborah (David) Butt of Springfield; eight grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at Ellinger-Kunz & Park Funeral Home with Pastor John Sheppard officiating.  Burial will follow at Pleasant Plains Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Pleasant Plains Rescue Squad.
