Ellen J. Bauman

SPRINGFIELD, IL - Ellen J. Bauman, 83, of Springfield, passed away July 23, 2015, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield.

Ellen was born March 10, 1932, in St. Louis, Mo., the daughter of Edward and Eleanora Hartman Willmering. She married Robert A. Bauman in 1953; he preceded her in death in 2006.

She took great pride in raising a large family and enjoyed singing, dancing and was an active volunteer with Dream Factory, a charity that grants wishes to terminally ill children.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; sister, Margaret; brother, Donald; son, Donald; grandson, Donnie Bauman; and granddaughter, Shauna Hass.

She is survived by her children: Jerome (Cathy), Susan (Michael) Graf, Michael (Carmen), Barbara (Matthew) Hass, and Christopher (Leticia); daughter-in-law, Cindy Bauman; grandchildren: Erik (Lara), Matthew, and Nicholas (LaToya) Bauman, Vanessa and Susan Graf, Melissa, Travis and Cheyenne Bauman, Christian Bauman, Trena and Jeremy Hass, and Corey and Tyler Bauman; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Monday, July 27, 2015, at St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Memorial Mass will be at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, July 28, 2015, at St. Joseph Parish with the Rev. Steven Janoski officiating.

Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
