Obituary

SPRINGFIELD, IL - Elizabeth Bradford Curtis, 98, of Springfield, passed away peacefully on Feb. 25, 2016.

"Betty" was born and raised in Eagle River, Wis. She attended nursing school in Chicago, where she met her future husband, Bill Curtis. Both served in WWII, she as an army nurse. They married after the war and eventually settled in Springfield, where they raised four children.

Betty pursued a college education in the 1970s and earned a bachelor's degree from MacMurray College. She then embarked on a second career as a school nurse, a position she both loved and excelled at.

She and Bill enjoyed an active social life. Betty was much admired for her vivacity, her warmth, and her humor.

She is survived by three daughters, a son, three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, a brother, and many nieces and nephews.

She was dearly loved and will be deeply missed.

Graveside services were held at Camp Butler National Cemetery.

Ellinger-Kunz & Park Funeral Home, 530 N. 5th St., Springfield, IL 62702 was in charge of arrangements.
