Elaine M. Kent, 96, of Illiopolis, passed away on Monday, July 23, 2018 at Regency Care.

Elaine was born on December 6, 1921 in Bloomington the daughter of William and Oleda Hilpert Murphy.  She married James F. Kent on July 4, 1941; He preceded her in death in 2000.

Elaine was a member of the Junior Women's Club of Illiopolis, Director of Stanford State Bank and she enjoyed landscaping and gardening.  She attended Illinois Wesleyan University and was a member of the Sigma Kappa Sorority.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Aaron Scott Reeder; and son-in-law, Edward J. Blair.

She is survived by daughter, Sharyn A. Blair of Clinton; sons, James M. (Susan G.) Kent of Rochester and Jay P. (Peggy S.) Kent of Illiopolis, seven grandchildren, William Kent Reeder, Elizabeth "Libby" Cross, Whitney Elizabeth McGraw, Kendra Elston, Jayna E. Green, Julia Webster and James Lee Kent; twelve great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and two nieces.

Family graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at Riverside Cemetery in Illiopolis with Reverend Butch Reneker officiating.
