Dorthy J. Ross, 90, of Rochester, passed away on Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at Lewis Memorial Christian Village in Springfield, IL.

Dorthy was born on January 31, 1933, in Pleasant Plains, IL., the daughter of Russell J. and Frances M. (Ferguson) Marcussen. She married F. North Ross on February 5, 1954 in Williamsville and he preceded her in death on January 17, 2008. Dorthy was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution, Order of the Eastern Star, and the Rochester Historical Preservation Society. She also enjoyed reading romance novels.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two infant sons, and one brother, JB Marcussen.

She is survived by her children, Dr. Dana Ross (Charles White), Pete D. Ross, and Frances (James) Gatlin.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at Wilson Park Funeral Home in Rochester, from 10:00AM until the time of the memorial service at 11:00. Burial will follow at Rochester Township Cemetery.
