Dorothy Kurniskie, 84, of Springfield, passed away on Sunday, March 14, 2021 at St. John's Hospital in Springfield. She was born on June 26, 1936, in Springfield, the daughter of Clarence and Leona (Beard) Denton. Dorothy went to nursing school and worked as a nurse at Memorial Medical Center for several years before going to work for the State of Illinois investigating medical fraud. She is preceded in death by her parents and one son, Lee Kurniskie. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Raymond; son, Kent (Brenda) Kurniskie; three granddaughters Melissa, Samantha and Jessica; 3 great grandsons, David, Raymond and Alexander, and several nieces and nephews Cremation will be accorded by Wilson Park Funeral Home and a private graveside service will be held at Camp Butler National Cemetery on Thursday, April 22. A Celebration of Life will be planned for a later date. Wilson Park Funeral Home, 200 E. Main St, Rochester, IL. is in charge of arrangements.
