Diana S. Fairchild, 68, of Rochester, passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at St. John's Hospital, in Springfield, IL. Diana was born on June 6, 1956, rural Rushville, the daughter of Charles and Jeanette (Taylor) Downs.

Diana was a 1974 graduate of Rushville High School.

Diana attended Blackhawk Dental School and went on to work as a Dental Hygienist. After moving to Springfield, she went on to work for the State of Illinois Legislative Information System. Diana married Marty Fairchild on July 7, 1984. She spent many years along his side farming up until her death. She delivered Meals on Wheels for over 22 years, enjoyed gardening, working outside, and loved raising cats.

She is preceded in death by her father.

Diana is survived by her husband, Marty; mother, Jeanette Downs; brother, Charles (Mary) Downs; her twin brother, David (Cindy) Downs; sister, Mary Alice Rexroat as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held on December 14, 2024 from 10:00AM until Memorial Services are held at 12:00PM at Wilson Park Funeral Home, 200 E. Main St. Rochester, IL. 62563. Burial will follow at Rochester Township Cemetery.

Memorial Donations may be made to the Animal Protective League, Rochester Fire & EMS, or the Rochester Public Library.
