Dennis L. Wickert, 76, of Springfield, IL passed away at his home on Saturday June 3, 2023 after a long battle with illness.

Dennis was born in Astoria, IL on August 18, 1946 and was the son of Ronal and Violet (Klinedinst) Wickert.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Violet Wickert, brother, Roy Wickert, father, Ronal Wickert and infant sister, Glena Mae Wickert.

Dennis is survived by his wife Beverly J Wickert; son, Tyson Tyler Wickert; daughter, Danika Dawn Wickert (husband, Jonas Wilson); granddaughters, Riley Kaelyn Wilson and Eliza Jane Darby Wilson; siblings, Quentin Wickert, Dean Wickert and Carroll Wickert.

Dennis served in the United States Air Force for close to 5 years. He married his wife, Beverly on January 9, 1971. First, Dennis spent time working for Allis-Chalmers, and then became an Iron Worker with the Local 46 for over 30 years.

He was a quiet loving man and a good provider for his family. He enjoyed keeping to himself.

Cremation services will be accorded by Ellinger-Kunz and Park Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday June 20, 2023 at Ellinger-Kunz and Park Funeral Home (530 North 5th St.) in Springfield, IL. from 12:00noon till 1:00pm. Military Honors will be held at Camp Butler National Cemetery following the visitation.
