Dennis Wayne Gist, 57, of Mt. Auburn, passed away on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at Decatur Memorial Hospital.

Dennis was born on July 13, 1960, in Jacksonville, FL., the son of Darrell and Betty (Shartzer) Gist.

Dennis was a manager in the construction industry.  He loved gardening and working with in his yard. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandkids and family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Debra Gist.

He is survived by his daughter, Lindsay(Paul Chessare) Delahunty; grandchildren, Colby May and Carter Delahunty; sister, Rhonda (Ron) Bramel; brother, Robert Gist; nieces, Brittany Bramel and Brandy Gist; nephew Josh Patrick; great nieces, Ella and Brea, and nephews, Jake and Brycen.

Visitation will be from 4-6:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 17, 2017 at Fullenwider Park Funeral Home in Illiopolis. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 18, 2017 at the funeral home with Reverend Dan Armstrong officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
