Dennis "Denny" Daniel Chapin

ROCHESTER, IL - Dennis "Denny" Daniel Chapin, 58, died Wednesday, May 7, 2014, at his residence in Rochester.

Denny was born June 29, 1955, in Springfield, the son of Daniel and Sarah Ann Woolen Chapin. He married Marsha Walker on March 10, 1973 in Rochester.

He was owner and operator of Chapin Lawn Care. His grandchildren were everything to him and he was everything to his family. Denny loved the St. Louis Cardinals and was the type of man who could always make friends with a stranger.

He was preceded in death by his father, Daniel Chapin.

He is survived by his wife, Marsha; son, Denny Chapin Jr. of Rochester; daughter, Denise (John) Neal of Rochester; mother, Sarah Ann Chapin of Florida; sister, Rhonda Paoli of Rockford; brother, James (Janice) Chapin of Springfield; grandchildren: Johnny, Joey and Rose; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 10, 2014, until the time of the funeral service at 3 p.m. at Wilson Park Funeral Home in Rochester, the Rev. Jim Ferrill officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Denny Chapin Cancer Care Fund at Bank and Trust in Rochester.
