David K Thresher Sr, 78, of Lincoln passed away on May 26th, 2021. David was born on May 19th, 1943 the son of Marco and Irene (Young) Thresher; they both preceded him in death.

David married his wife Catherine Brewer on March 6th, 1966; she has preceded him in death. Dave's daughter Jackie Holder; brothers, Doyle and Leroy; and sister, Felicia also preceded him in death.

David was in the Army from 1964 to 1966 touring in Germany. Dave retired from Caterpillar in 1999. Dave enjoyed traveling with his wife and family and spent a lot of time in New Mexico where his parents retired. He was an active member of the DVA in Springfield, IL and he loved spending time being silly with his grandchildren.

Dave is survived by his children, David Thresher Jr. and Felicia Thresher; grandchildren, Charlene (Michael) McKinney, Hailey Dinger, Peyton Shaffer; great grandchildren, Talan McKinney, Kaylee McKinney, and Maddox Richardson; siblings, Ronnie Charles, Patricia Thresher, Denny (Connie) Thresher, John (Diane) Thresher, Sherry Wright; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Cremation services will be accorded through Ellinger-Kunz and Park Funeral Home in Springfield. A graveside service will be held on Friday June 4th, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Oakridge Cemetery in Springfield, IL.

His cousin, Rev. Louis Kunz will be Officiating.
