David Conrad Pohl, 58, of Springfield, passed away Friday, November 18, 2016 at his home.

David was born on November 22, 1957 in Springfield, the son of Conrad J. and Mary I. Fitzgibbon Pohl. He married Deborah Belle Yates on December 28, 1997.

David worked for CWLP as an operating engineer/control room operator at the power plant for over 30 years and was also a member of IBEW Local 193. He loved the ocean and treasured the time he lived in Myrtle Beach, SC. He was an avid Atlanta Braves fan and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

David was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Deborah Pohl; daughter, Mikki Sharp of Springfield; three grandchildren, Ashley and Mackenzie Sharp, and Makala Brown; three brothers, John and Robert Pohl both of Springfield, and Jim (Judy) Pohl of Petersburg; four sisters, Mary Ann Pohl, and Nancy (Edward) Canny both of Springfield, Karen (Craig) Aubuchon of St. Louis, and Kathy (Jeffrey) Sexton of New Berlin; one aunt, Kathryn Brown of Springfield; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be from 4-7:00 p.m. on Monday, November 21, 2016 at Ellinger-Kunz & Park Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at the funeral home with Reverend Larry Hanson officiating. Cremation will follow.
