David D. Miller, 84, of Springfield, passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at Springfield Memorial Hospital in Springfield, IL surrounded by his family.

David was born on March 29, 1940, in Springfield the son of Lowell and Beulah (Dickerson) Miller. He married Janet Heckler on August 6, 1960. David was an avid Chicago Cubs fan, Riverton Basketball fan and enjoyed watching Illini and high school basketball games. He was also a retired member of the Blue Ridge Club.

David is preceded in death by his parents; infant son, David Miller Jr.; brother, Jim Miller; and sister, LuElla Halm.

He is survived by his wife, Janet; children, James Mitchell (partner, Christina); Wendy (Tony) Wessing; and Scott David Miller; grandchildren, Zachary, Shane and Kyle Miller, Morghan Brummel, Chelsea Woodcock, and Megan and Hannah Wessing, sixteen great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 29, 2025 from 5:00-7:00PM at Wilson Park Funeral Home, 200 E. Main St, in Rochester.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00AM on Thursday at the funeral home with reverend Braden Parks officiating. Burial will follow at Rochester Cemetery.
