David Allen Manion, 61, of Springfield, passed away at his home on Wednesday, December 21, 2022.

David was born in Springfield, Illinois at Memorial Medical Center on January 17, 1961, the son of Raymond and Rita (Richards) Manion. He was a long time employee of Springfield Clinic as a Phlebotomist. He was an avid collector of many things including Batman and WWII memorabilia. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, playing guitar and researching World and Family History.

He is preceded in death by his parents. David is survived by his long time partner, Lisha Smock; one son, Shawn (Brianna Hanson); one sister, Karen Gerstung (late husband, Robert Gerstung); nephews, Ryne Manion (Megan Tuchmann), Chad and Cody Gerstung; great nieces, Amberee Manion and Riley Gerstung; one uncle, Bill Richards Sr., and several cousins.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at Wilson Park Funeral Home from 10:00AM until the time of the funeral at 11:30 with Reverend Larry Hanson officiating. Cremation will be accorded after services and burial will be at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. Wilson Park Funeral Home in Rochester is in charge of arrangements.
