David L "Skeeter" Andrew, 81, of Illiopolis, passed away on Monday April 22, 2024 at Lewis Memorial Christian Village in Springfield

David was born on February 26, 1943 in Findlay, OH. the son of E. Keith and Roma O'Connor Andrew. His family moved around a lot due to his father working in construction building DeKalb Plants.  The family lived in Nebraska when he was very young, they then settled in Illiopolis so he could go to school and he graduated in 1961.  He was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1964 and went to three different schools to learn how to work on helicopters.  He was honorably discharged in 1966.  He loved animals, motorcycles, aircrafts, trains and cars.  He attended many car shows and NASCAR races.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one Uncle, Eli Andrew, and grandparents Arthur & Mary Andrew and Dudley and Sarah O'Connor

He is survived by cousins, Peggy Hansen, Kathy (Jamie) Gustafson, Julie (Gene) Chappelear, Steven (Sally) Hansen, Sherri (Eric) Kumm, and Warren (Vickie) Hansen

Visitation will be held on Monday April 29, 2024 from 5-7:00 p.m. at Fullenwider Park Funeral Home in Illiopolis.  Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at Riverside Cemetery in Illiopolis with Melissa Ebken officiating.
