Kozelka

David A. Kozelka, 90, of Springfield, passed away on Friday, March 18, 2022 at Cedarhurst of Springfield. David was born in Chicago, on October 14, 1931, the son of Robert and Miriam (Ashley) Kozelka. He married Reba Stanton on June 9, 1956 in Loami.
David was a member of Lakeside Christian Church where he served as an elder and a Sunday school teacher. Music was a very important part of David's life. He was an accomplished musician and taught orchestra and band for over 23 years as well as played French horn in several orchestras and symphonies throughout the state, in particular as the most tenured member of the Springfield Municipal Band.
David is preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
He is survived by two daughters, Deirdre (John) Springer, and Marla (Lee) Kim; grandchildren, Merai and Zachary Springer and Alexander Kim; and siblings, Robin Kozelka and Francia Hawkins as well as several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 24, from 4:00 until the time of the memorial service at 6:00 at Wilson Park Funeral Home, 200 E. Main St. in Rochester.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, at Rochester Cemetery with Pastors Jon Morrisette and Jay Brooks.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
