David E. Johnson, 76, of Springfield, passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2026 at Springfield Suites. David was born on June 26, 1950, in Springfield, the son of Charles E. and Lois E. (Dickson) Johnson. He worked for Robert's Seafood as a salesman for many years and enjoyed golfing, fishing, and most of all woodworking. He was an avid Chicago Bears fan and enjoyed watching college football. He married Cinda Smith on October 26, 2005 and she survives.

David is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Alan Johnson.

He is survived by his wife, Cinda; son, Joshua (Breanne) Johnson; grandchildren Emma and Hailey Lesniak; and one sister, Nancy (Jeff) Greene.

Per David's wishes cremation will be accorded and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
