David Brockman, 74, of Springfield, passed away on Thursday, October 5, 2023 at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, IL.

David was born on June 11, 1949, in Springfield, the son of John and Marie (Fentress) Brockman. He married Karen Goatley and she survives. He loved playing guitar, watching Nascar, and above all, attending every sporting event for his grandchildren. He was the ultimate story teller, often entertaining everyone with outlandish yet hilarious stories. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and vacationing with his family.

David is preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Stella Matrisch.

He is survived by his wife, Karen; daughters, Tina Sharp, Teresa (Christian) Mathes, Shannon (Mark) Owens and Ashley (Ryan) Fitzsimmons; 11 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and one brother, John (Linda) Brockman.

Cremation was accorded by Wilson Park Funeral Home and private family graveside services will be held. A Celebration of Life will be held at 4:00PM, Friday, October 13, 2023, at Top Cats 3211 E Sangamon Ave, Springfield, IL 62702.

Memorial donations may be made to the Animal Protective League, American Cancer Society, or to St, Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
