Darrell J. Powell Sr., 77, of Rochester, passed away on Friday, November 26, 2021 at Springfield Memorial Hospital. Darrell was born on September 16, 1944, in Tallula, IL, the son of Claude and Wilma (Jones) Powell. He married Mary F. Gray on December 25, 1966 and she preceded him in death in 2013.

Darrell enjoyed golfing, playing and umpiring softball games, and watching the St. Louis Cardinals.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Darrell is survived by his children, Darrell J. (Holly) Powell Jr, and Anita (Tom) Perry; one granddaughter, Claudia Perry; two sisters, Daneita Kording and Dorena Evans; one brother, Dennis Guffey and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at Wilson Park Funeral Home, 200 E. Main St. in Rochester, from 10:00AM until the time of the Funeral Service at Noon with Reverend Paul Ayappa officiating. Burial will follow at Rochester Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
