Daniel "Dan" Eatherington, 71, of Springfield passed away on Thursday, April 25, 2019 at St. John's Hospital.

Dan was born in Dekalb on April 12, 1948 the son of Harold and Marcella (Kurtz) Eatherington.

During his life he enjoyed cycling, the Fighting Illini, and playing backgammon, but he loved the Chicago Cubs.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Dan is survived by his daughter, Amanda Eatherington; step son, James Keating; step-grandson, Delta Keating; brothers, Phillip and Mel; and sister, Francis.

Cremation will be accorded.  Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 30,2019 at Ellinger-Kunz and Park Funeral Home with Reverend Joseph Ring officiating.

Memorials may be made to any charity or foundation of the donor's choice.
