PLEASANT PLAINS, IL - Cora Jean Correll, 72, of Pleasant Plains, Ill., passed away Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2015, peacefully at her home.
She was born Oct. 22, 1942, in Neva, Tenn., the second child of Ralph and Maudean Dugger, both deceased.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jarrell W. Correll Sr., whom she married on Oct. 22, 1958, in Springfield, Ill.
Cora Jean worked as a nursing tech for many years on the Labor and Delivery Floor of St. John's Hospital in Springfield, Ill. She was a longtime member, and on the board, of the recently closed Pleasant Plains Church of Christ. She recently became a member of the Richland Creek Baptist Church. She enjoyed studying her Bible, watching Jimmy Swaggart, reading, being outdoors, gardening and attending the 50+ club.
Cora Jean was also preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Eva Eversole and Norma DeArmond; and two brothers, JC Dugger and Gary Dugger.
She is survived by two daughters, Felicia Richmond and Cristal Hopper; three sons: Jarrell Correll Jr., Preston Correll and Gregory Correll; two stepdaughters, Rita Buker and Carol Mullen; four sisters: Sandra Vasquez, Patricia Richmond, Kimberly Bravo, and Melissa Ezell; one brother, Walter Dugger; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at noon on Monday, Sept. 14, 2015, at Richland Creek Baptist Church, 12255 Salisbury Rd., Pleasant Plains, with Pastor Keith Masten officiating.
Burial will follow at Pleasant Plains Cemetery.
