Clifford Alan Garner, 67, of Mechanicsburg, IL, passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2026.

Born on November 10, 1958, in Springfield, IL, he was the son of Clarence and Patricia (Hollis) Garner. Clifford was preceded in death by his father, Clarence.

He is survived by his loving mother, Patricia Garner, and his siblings: Glen (Melinda) Garner, Chris (Amy) Garner, Gary Garner, and Cheryl (Jerry) Smith. Clifford also leaves behind many cherished nieces, nephews, and friends.

A passionate music enthusiast, Clifford participated in several bands throughout his life. He loved to travel and explore new restaurants. Highly educated, he had a deep fascination with history, culture, and English instruction, and he was often seen with a book in hand at any gathering.

Above all, Clifford treasured his family and friends.

Clifford will be laid to rest at Mechanicsburg Cemetery with a private burial service. A Celebration of Life will be held on February 7, 2026, from 12 PM to 3 PM at The Library - Pizza and Sports Bar, located at 1220 Old Toronto Rd., Springfield, IL 62712
