Obituary

Charlotte L. Mottaz, 86, of Springfield, passed away on Friday, March 4, 2016 at Oak Terrace.

Charlotte was born on February 25, 1930 in Springfield the daughter of Maurice and Hazel Young Lounsberry.

Charlotte rode with her father on his laundry wagon at 4 years old.  He worked at Chatman's Laundry in Springfield. She went to elementary school at Hay-Edwards and graduated from Springfield High School.  She worked as a secretary for Los Alamos Atomic Energy Commission in the 50's and 60's at the Illinois State Capitol and retired from Illinois Department of Transportation.  She enjoyed planting trees around her house, going to yard sales with her sister Betty, traveling around the country and visiting her children and their children.  She camped across country by herself and was very adventurous all her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and one son, John Mottaz.

She is survived by daughter, Robin Mottaz of Springfield; son, Peter Mottaz of New Mexico; five grandchildren, Marshall Maez, Jeremiah, LaShawn, Elyse and Jake Mottaz; five great-grandchildren, Amabel and Alison Maez, Roland, Kenya and Ramon Mottaz; one sister, Betty Kincaid; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Cremation was accorded.  No services are planned.
