Charlotte M. Cross

ILLIOPOLIS - Charlotte M. Cross, 95, of Illiopolis, died Friday, September 27, 2013, at the Vonderlieth Living Center in Mt.Pulaski, Ill.

Charlotte was born October 26, 1917, in Decatur, the daughter of Charles (Rard) Phillips and Nellie (Easterling) Phillips. She married Charles W. Cross September 30, 1939, he preceded her in death January 29, 1999.

Charlotte was a member of Illiopolis Christian Church. She retired from the United States Post Office in 1980 after serving 27 years.

She is preceded in death by her brother, Richard Phillips, and two sisters, Margaret Elston and Catherine Hemp.

Charlotte is survived by two sons, Wayne (Ruth) Cross of Buffalo, and Keith Cross of Jacksonville, Fla.; five grandchildren, Maribeth (Todd) Oliver of Springfield, Susan (Scot) Beckmann of Plainfield, Nicole of Bloomington, Stefanie Wataga, Kelly (Paul) Shook of Orion; seven great-grandchildren, Charlie and Emma Beckmann, Megan, George Oliver, Gia, Cooper, Piper Shook.

Visitation will be at the Fullenwider-Park Funeral Home in Illiopolis from 5-7 p.m. Monday, September 30, 2013. Funeral services will be Tuesday, October 1, 2013, at the Illiopolis Christian Church with Reverend Melissa Ebken officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Illiopolis.
