Charles W. "Charlie" Bull, 90, of Springfield, passed away on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at Lewis Memorial Christian Village.
Charlie was born on May 22, 1926 in Franklin, IL the son of Buell and Ruby Seymour Bull. He married Juanita Marie Widner; she preceded him in death.
He was a veteran of the US Army serving during WWII. He drove trucks and was an equipment operator for Fiat Allis for over 37 years retiring in 1985. After retiring he went on to be a grain inspector with Springfield Grain Inspection Inc. for over 10 years.
He was also preceded in death by his parents and nine siblings.
He is survived by son, Michael (Laura) Bull of Springfield; two grandsons, Alan (Alyssa) Bull of Knoxville, TN, and Steven (Krissy) Bull of Loami; one great grandson, Aiden Bull of Knoxville, TN; two sisters, Wanda (Don) Scott of Bath, IL and Lucy Shearer of Riverside, CA; four brothers, Clyde (Carol), Don and Jerry Bull all of Springfield and Howard (Sue) Bull of Pawnee; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be from 3-6:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 5, 2017 at Ellinger-Kunz & Park Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 6, 2017 at the funeral home with Reverend Vaughn Beeman officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery where the Inter-Veterans Burial Detail will conduct honors.
