Catherine "Katie" Rodems Westhoff

SPRINGFIELD, IL - Catherine "Katie" Rodems Westhoff, 62, of Springfield, died Tuesday, May 19, 2015, at St. John's Hospice.

Katie was born July 6, 1952, in Taylorville, Ill., the daughter of Louis A. and Betty Childers Rodems.

She held various jobs including teaching gymnastics and being a caretaker from 1985-2010 in Chatham and Litchfield. She was of the Catholic faith and volunteered at St. John's Breadline.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by two sons, Shay Westhoff of Litchfield and Michael (Nathan Majzel) Manola of Springfield; one sister, Molly (Clint) Bates of Chatham; four brothers: John (Charlotte), Chris, Pat and Steve Rodems all of Springfield; five grandchildren: Drake Gray, Shay Jr., Makenzie, Stephanie and Samantha Westhoff; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the memorial services at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 23, 2015, at Ellinger-Kunz & Park Funeral Home with the Rev. Richard Chiola officiating.
