Carolyn M. Vinson, 81, of Springfield, passed away on Saturday, July 20, 2024 at her home surrounded by her family. Carolyn was born in Springfield, IL. on October 31, 1942, the daughter of Loren E. and Mildred G. (DeCroix) Moore. She married Charles "Tom" Vinson on April 8, 1961 and they shared 63 years together.

Carolyn was a member of the Route 97 Crusader's car club and enjoyed traveling and going to car shows. She also enjoyed sewing, playing cards and being at social events.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Rod McKenzie and Dean Burge, and son in law Steve Ransford.

She is survived by her husband, Tom; daughter, Lisa Ransford; granddaughter, Megan Ransford, all of Springfield; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Private family graveside services will be held at Roselawn Memorial Park in Springfield.

A celebration of life will be held on October 12, from 2:00-5:00PM, at Northfield Center, 3280 Northfield Dr, Springfield, IL 62702.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
