Carol Higgins, 78, of Edinburg, passed away on Monday, December 28, 2020 at St. John's Hospital in Springfield.

Carol was born on July 5, 1942 in Christian County, the daughter of Ralph and Clara (Trader) Richards.

She worked for several years at Calvary Temple in Springfield and loved cross stitching, macraming, and quilting.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brother "Bud" Richards, sisters, Delores Woods, Helen Castelli, Florence Sinkhorn and Rita Manion.

Carol is survived by her husband of 60 years, Robert James Higgins; one son, Mark (Brenda) Higgins of Taylorville; daughter, Penny (Glen) Amos of Edinburg; three grandchildren, Ashleigh Green, Kayla Willings, Courtney Masters; four great grandchildren; one brother, William Richards of Springfield and several nieces and nephews.

Due to COVID-19 and Carol's wishes graveside services will be held at Edinburg Cemetery at a later date.
