Carl E. Johnson, 71, of Springfield, IL, passed away at home on March 31, 2020.

Carl was born in Rock Island, IL, on January 13, 1949 the son of William and Virginia (Pryer) Johnson.

He served in the United States Army during Vietnam and he enjoyed keeping himself busy with yard work and other tasks around the house. He worked for Sutton's Construction for many years.

Carl was preceded in death by his wife, Cindy Johnson; parents; and his brother Bill.

He is survived by his children Joshua, Jody, and Shawn; grandchildren, Dana Williams, Haley Johnson, Austin Clark, and Conner McCafee; 2 bothers, Eric and John "Duke"; 3 sisters, Peggy Saunders, Barbara Deathridge, and Sheila Actchison as well as many other extended family members.

Cremation Services are being accorded and a celebration of life and military honors will be held at a later date.
