Bryon Kendrick "Kenny" Patton

ILLIOPOLIS, IL - Bryon Kendrick "Kenny" Patton, 69, of Illiopolis, passed away Dec. 16, 2014, at Decatur Memorial Hospital, surrounded by his family.

Kenny was born Oct. 8, 1945, to Jesse Paul Patton and Mary Anna Owens Patton in Albany, Ky. He grew up and attended school in Pawnee, Ill., before serving in the Army, where he was stationed in both Korea and Vietnam. Kenny lived in the Illiopolis community for more than 36 years and worked at Staley/Tate and Lyle as a Plant Coordinator before retiring in 2003 to enjoy his motor home, boat and family. Kenny loved camping, fishing and playing cards with family and friends. He was an outdoor person who thought "if something needed done, do it now and don't wait".

Kenny was preceded in death by his grandparents, William and Melvina Patton and Odell and Jaruthie Jane Owens; his parents; a brother, Glen Russell; and a sister, Nancy Grace Melvina.

He is survived by his wife and best friend, Deanna; a daughter, Kimberly Kay (Larry) Moses of Peoria, Ariz.; two sons, Shawn Paul (Taryn) Patton and Bret Kendrick (Wendi) Patton; three sisters: Mary Sue (Larry) Dahlkoetter of Chatham, Edith Jayne Stewart of Springfield, and Kathryn Evon (Cleve "Bud") Huff of Argenta; and a brother, Roger Dale (Deborah) Patton of Decatur. He also has nine grandchildren: Emily Kaytlynn Rice, Matthew Harold Rice, Andrew Kenneth Rice, Abigail Haleigh Rice, Landen Paul Patton, Alexis Jade Patton, Reese MaKenna Patton, Sullivan Kendrick Patton and Tate Lucas Patton; as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.

A time for remembrance for Kenny will be held from 2-5 p.m. on Dec. 27, 2014, at the United Methodist Church in Illiopolis, Ill. All family and friends are invited.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to either Kenny's family to assist with his medical expenses or to the Cancer Care Specialists of Central Illinois, 210 W. McKinley Ave., Ste. 1, Decatur, IL 62526.

Arrangements are being handled by Fullenwider-Park Funeral Home in Illiopolis.
