Brian K. Tracey, 68, of Springfield, IL passed away on Monday, August 5, 2019 in the comfort of his own home.

Brian was born on May 21, 1951, in Baltimore Maryland, the son of Robert and Hazel Tracey.

He loved his family, had a brilliant sense of humor, and never passed up an opportunity to make someone laugh. He also enjoyed being out in nature whether it was fishing or gardening, where he could spend his time in quiet reflection.

Brian was a veteran of the United States Navy earning 2 Bronze Stars during his time in Vietnam.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Brian is survived by his daughter, Erica Tracey of Newport Beach CA; siblings Gail Croxton, Kevin Tracey, Judy & Greg Capranica and Wayne Tracey; his beloved dog, Elsa; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation will be from 4-6:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 11, 2019 at Ellinger-Kunz & Park Funeral Home.  Memorial services will be at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, August 12, 2019 at the funeral home with Reverend Adam Connolly officiating.  Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery with military honors.
