Brenda Joyce (Yoswig) Mogensen, age 63, of Richmond, TX., passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2024 at Harbor Hospice House of Houston. Brenda was born in Springfield, IL., on November 24, 1960, the daughter of Walter H. and Juanita M. (Poe) Yoswig. She married Richard M. Mogensen on April 3, 1982 and he survives.

Brenda is survived by her husband, Richard; daughter, Kristen (Brett) Rovey; four grandchildren, Jamison, Makenna, Alyssa, and Savannah; brother, Rod (Pia) Yoswig; niece, Alexis Yoswig; step-niece, Brittany (Tyler) Sitko; step-great-nieces, Payton and Madelyn Sitko; step-nephew, Kevin Owens; uncles, Ralph (Freda) Poe and Ron Poe; aunt, Sharon Yoswig; and many friends in Springfield and Richmond.

She is preceded in death by one son, Ryan Mogensen and her parents, Walter and Juanita Yoswig.

Brenda worked as a receptionist at CWLP in Springfield for 20 years before she retired and moved to Texas to be closer to her grandchildren. She was a member of the First Colony Church of Christ in Sugarland, TX.

Brenda enjoyed spending time attending her grandchildren's many activities including: sporting events, dance recitals, school programs, birthdays, holiday gatherings, and engaging with them at church each week. She loved traveling to explore new places with the Del Webb Travel Club, Day Trippers, family and was looking forward to many more adventures this year. She qualified for the Sweetgrass Fitness Superstars and could regularly be found at the gym, riding her bike, on morning walks, and line dancing. Her friends loved spending time with her at Card Crafters, Rolling Ridge Lunch Group, and her personal favorite, Wine Girls Club.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Wilson Park Funeral Home, 200 E. Main Street in Rochester. Burial will follow at Rochester Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
