Bonnie K. Welch, 73, of Springfield, passed away on Sunday, December 21, 2025 at Springfield Memorial Hospital in Springfield, IL. Bonnie was born in Springfield, IL. on May 21, 1952, the daughter of Gerald Gilson and Norma (Kibele) Pritchett. She married Clarence “Rusty” Welch on January 11, 2002 and he preceded her in death in 2018. Bonnie worked as an LPN at Memorial Medical Center before going to work for the Post Office and later retiring from there. Bonnie enjoyed shopping, spending time with her kids, grandkids and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Rusty.

Bonnie is survived by her daughter, Melanie Woods; and son, Ryan (Cortney) Woods ; grandchildren, Bryce and Nolan Gietl, and Dylan and Avyanna Woods; cousin, Linda (Tom) Clatfelter and special friend Sharon (Frank) Shimkus.

Per Bonnie’s wishes, cremation will be accorded and no services will be held. She will be laid to rest with her husband Rusty at Camp Butler National Cemetery.

Wilson Park Funeral Home in Rochester is in charge of arrangements.
