Betty Jean Morris, 88, of Springfield, passed away on February 21, 2018 with her family by her side.

Betty was born March 1, 1929 in Rector, Arkansas.  She was the daughter of Urby and Leoffie Gregory.  She celebrated more than seventy-three years of marriage with Therman Morris.

She is survived by her husband, Therman; children, Dennis (Becky) of Decatur, Danny (Judy) of Stanford, NC, Kenny (Nancy) of Rochester, Michael (Sue) of Monticello, and Jill Carr Ballard (Darren) of Taswell, IN; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Billie Reddick, Glennia Hoggard and Shirley Austin.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Bobby and Jerry Gregory; and sisters, Urbylene Ward, Louise Jones and Wanda Morris.

Betty was a hardworking, straight talking, loving wife and mother.  She enjoyed singing in church quartets and choirs and played a mean game of dominoes.  Most recently she was an active member of Real Life Church in Springfield.

Visitation will be 5-7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 23, 2018 at Real Life Church, 2701 Hermitage Road, Springfield.  A celebration of life service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at Real Life Church.  Friend and pastor, Clint Cook, will officiate the services.  Burial will be at the Locust Grove Cemetery east of Moweaqua (2376 East 1300 North Road, Assumption, IL).
