Betty Jeanne Mazzotti, age 90, of Springfield IL, passed away on December 10, 2020 at Concordia Village in Springfield, Illinois from Covid-19. Betty was born on September 26th, 1930 in Taylorville, IL to Gabriel and Lenora (Giovagnoli) Fiaoni. On January 8th, 1951 she married Donald Mazzotti in Taylorville. He preceded her in death on July 25th, 1995. She was also preceded in death by her parents and brothers: Angelo Fiaoni, Ralph Fiaoni, and sister-in-law Helen Fiaoni. She is survived by two sons Gary (Michelle) Mazzotti, and Larry (Joyce) Mazzotti, grandchildren: Amy Mazzotti, Jodi Mazzotti, Thomas (Amanda) Mazzotti, Jason Mazzotti, Michael (Maddie) Mazzotti, and step-grandchild Justin King; and five great grandchildren. Her sister-in-law, Joan Fiaoni of Taylorville also survives.

Betty spent most of her working years self-employed, running Notaries Association of IL from her home. After Donald's death, she traveled the world and was secretary of the Railsplitter Wanderers 5K Walking Group. She proudly displayed a map showing that she completed a 5K Walk in the Capitol of all 50 states in the US. Betty loved to crochet, and lovingly provided family and friends with warm slippers and blankets to cherish. Always the die-hard Cub fan, she was able to celebrate the 2016 World Series win. Betty rarely missed a game and always coached and rallied the team from her chair.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the staff of Concordia Senior Living, and especially Amber, who tirelessly attended to Betty's needs and provided her unconditional love during her last days. Because of Covid-19 restrictions, there will be no services at this time.

Her life was very full and rewarding, and she enriched the lives of those who knew and loved her. Betty was ready to meet the Lord when he called her home. Our loss is heaven's gain.
