Betty Woolery Lowrey, 89, former longtime Ponca City, Okla. resident, passed away peacefully Saturday April 2, 2016 in Springfield, Ill.

Betty was born January 16, 1927 in Mexico, Mo., to Harry and Rosaline Woolery. She grew up and attended schools in Mexico, Mo. Betty was a medical laboratory technician and worked for the Arrendell Clinic and the Ponca City Hospital in Ponca City, Okla.

Betty was very active in the First Presbyterian Church and a member of PEO.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Deming; and is survived by her son, John of Springfield, Ill.; daughter, Martha Baker of Boynton Beach, Fla.; four grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A private ceremony will be conducted in Ponca City at a later date.
