Betty C. Irvin, 84, of Mt. Pulaski, passed away on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at Memorial Medical Center.

Betty was born on July 18, 1932 in Mt. Pulaski the daughter of John Pat and Dora Cooper Welch.  She married Guy Irvin on August 13, 1955 in Resurrection Parish in Illiopolis.

Betty worked for the State of Illinois, retiring after 20 years.  She was member of Resurrection Parish in Illiopolis.  She enjoyed learning how to use the computer.  She loved to travel to Scotland, Ireland and Wales and competing in the Scottish Games.  She received an Honorary Degree from MacMurray College in Jacksonville.

She is survived by her husband, Guy Irvin of Mt. Pulaski; three daughters, Pamela (Mike), Linda (Alex) and Joan (Jim); one son, Guy (Jean) Irvin III; fifteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 4-6:00 p.m. on Monday, December 26, 2016 at Resurrection Parish in Illiopolis.  An additional visitation will be held from 9-10:15 a.m. on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at the church.  Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. with Fr. Paul DeMoreno officiating.  Burial will follow at Mt. Pulaski Cemetery.
